Restorative Dentistry from a Highly Skilled Prosthodontist

Restorative dentistry aims to preserve and rehabilitate teeth and their supporting structures. Dr. Paul Archacki is a board-certified prosthodontist with extensive training restoring functional and natural-looking smiles. During each routine exam and cleaning, he will check the health of your teeth and gums, making any necessary treatment recommendations.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns can repair seriously damaged teeth, simultaneously restoring both your appearance and your oral function. These larger restorations will fit completely over one of your teeth. In some cases, Dr. Archacki will need to reshape teeth to ensure a proper fit. As a prosthodontist, he understands how to achieve a remarkably realistic appearance. To that end, he typically provides crowns made entirely from porcelain, an incredibly durable and lifelike material.

Teeth that have been damaged may need to be reshaped to accommodate a dental crown.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges can replace between one and three missing teeth. A traditional bridge is made from multiple dental crowns and rests on top of the teeth adjacent to the gap in your smile. In order to support the bridge, Dr. Archacki will need to reshape these adjacent teeth. Alternatively, he can provide an implant-supported bridge that is held in place with titanium posts. In either case, he will work carefully to provide a completely lifelike restoration.

Traditional dental bridges are anchored to adjacent teeth by reshaping them to accommodate multiple dental crowns.

Dentures are designed to replace multiple missing teeth or an entire dental arch. Dr. Archacki provides several types of dentures. Traditional dentures are removable and come in two sizes: full and partial. In collaboration with an experienced oral surgeon, Dr. Archacki can also provide an implant-supported denture for even greater security. Dr. Archacki also offers the digital AvaDent® denture system, which enables us to craft custom dentures in as little as six days.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are tiny metal posts that effectively replace your tooth roots following tooth loss. Once these posts have fused with your jaw, they can uphold a custom-designed prosthetic. While Dr. Archacki does not place implants, he can determine your candidacy, refer you to a skilled surgeon, and oversee the entire procedure. He can also perform any necessary preparatory procedures, such as bone grafting and sinus lifts. Once you have healed from surgery, he can attach your crown, bridge, or denture.

Once an oral surgeon has placed your dental implants, Dr. Archacki can restore your brilliant smile with an incredibly lifelike dental prosthesis.

Root Canal Procedure

Root canal therapy is the most efficient and effective way to treat a dental infection and is often the only way to avoid tooth extraction. During the procedure, Dr. Archacki will remove any infection from the inside of your tooth and fill the tooth with a soft material called gutta percha. Then he will reshape the outside and place a crown. Root canal therapy involves negligible discomfort because we offer both local anesthesia and nitrous oxide.

Once bacteria and infection have been removed, your tooth with be filled and a crown will be placed.

Dental Fillings

If you have a small or medium-sized cavity, a dental filling can strengthen and seal your tooth, safeguarding against future infection. Dr. Archacki proudly offers tooth-colored composite fillings, rather than traditional metal restorations. Composite is more natural looking and has many other benefits.

In addition to having greater cosmetic benefits, tooth-colored fillings offer many other benefits as well.

Scaling and Root Planing

Scaling and root planing is typically the most effective way to treat mild to moderate gum disease. Dr. Archacki or your hygienist will remove bacterial pockets and any diseased tissue. Then he or she will smooth, or plane, your dental roots. This step will eradicate the microscopic cracks where bacteria can go undetected. Thus, your dentist can prevent worsening gum disease, tooth loss, and even systemic health complications.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and onlays are smaller than crowns, but they perform many of the same functions. Fitting on top of damaged molars, these restorations can repair severe decay, as well as moderate cracks. An inlay will fit in between the cusps of a tooth, while an onlay will run over the cusps and down the sides. Like dental crowns, inlays and onlays are made of advanced tooth-colored materials that will blend almost indistinguishably with your smile.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

Full mouth reconstruction may be suitable if you have widespread or severe dental damage.  This is a multi-stage, entirely personalized process that combines various restorative procedures. In some cases, you may also include certain cosmetic treatments for a comprehensive effect. Dr. Archacki can help you choose the appropriate options, based on your health needs, aesthetic goals, budget, and dental insurance.
